Brrr – we’re lighting up the fireplace this evening

We returned this afternoon from an excellent Airstream Club local rally in Tanglewood Park in Clemmons NC. Lots of really wonderful folks there, nearly perfect wx, best campfire ever, and maybe the best food ever. It was great to be around such nice folks all weekend. We returned to our place in NC’s northwestern most county (Ashe) at twoish at the outside temperature already was 57.

First cool nite in a long time

First cool nite in a long time

Our game camera tells us it was 46 this morning. Now, at 8pm, it’s 53 outside and when the inside temp dropped below 70 we lit our catalytic heater and rotated it to warm Debbie. Luckily for me, it has wide angle radiation so I’m feeling warmer too.

Tonight’s forecast is for a low of 42.  Campfire in the morning? You bet!

See you down the road!

  1. Hello Jim and Debbie from Bob and Bev Gregory formerly from Lawrence KS and now from Franklin, KY. We’ve been here since Feb 2014.
Stop by and use our Courtesy Parking area. Water. 20A and five minutes off Exit 6, I-65 in South Central Kentucky.
We still think of the good times on the Alaska Caravan with you and the other Caravanners
Glad to see you in the National leadership position. Do well and safe travels.

    • Good morning Bob. We remember fondly meeting y’all on the road to B.C. and enjoyed spending the next nine weeks traveling with you also.

Yes, we’d love to visit you in Kentucky. You’re on our map now.

Thanks for your kind thoughts on our service for the Airstream Club. It’s a great and rewarding challenge, as you know from the many years you spent in service to the Club. We’re glad we can do it.

  2. I miss that brisk mountain air!

    • It’s brisk alright. Low forecast for last night was 38. Don’t think we went there, it was high 40s this morning when we finally climbed out of our warm bed. High today again is 70 – nice!

      Jim
